Bird Rock Print
The Pacific Ocean holds a very special place in my heart. More specifically, the California Coast along Monterey and Big Sur. It is where I grew up and still brings me a great amount of peace to visit.
Bird Rock is a very specific rock along the Pebble Beach area where, you guessed it, many many birds gather. The rock is never unoccupied by its cormorant, pelican, and sea gull friends. Every surface littered with feather friends regardless of the sea’s calm or rage.
This particular moment was a typical foggy morning at high tide. The ocean roared and waves aggressively crashed along the rocks firmly anchored to the ocean floor. Mostly painted with black cormorants, the brown-grey rocks appeared spotted like a dalmatian. It was fascinating to watch as the feathered friends remained unbothered by the seemingly angry sea; firmly perched to their preferred rocky peak. The beautiful blue of the ocean stood in stark contrast to the grey of the skies as the sun burned its way thru the clouds. It was an absolutely lovely February morning.
